Every Buckle Tells a Story
|
Hilary Helstein takes vintage photos and creates one-of-a-kind
buckles and belts. In less than a year her designs have become
the craze with the famous and not so famous. Her belts can be
seen on the Bruce Springsteen band members, on the new Fox
series, “The War At Home,” and worn by Steven Bauer in the
upcoming feature film, “Venus & Vegas.” Kevin Costner is a big
fan with his Chief Red Hawk buckle. If you want a special look,
Hilary will create a custom design as she did for NASCAR driver,
Michael Ashley, who proudly wears a picture of his racecar on
his specially handcrafted buckle.
Hilary’s buckles quickly drew attention from the Robb Report
Luxury Lifestyle magazine, www.Delight.com and GQ Russian
edition, to name a few.
When asked how she got started creating these unique buckles,
Hilary said “I’m originally from New York with a background in
art and filmmaking. I traveled all over the world making
documentaries as a result of my passion for art, history and
fascinating people. Always a fan of couture, I came up with the
concept of “wearable art” with an historical bent. As a
documentarian, I am a storyteller and now my newest medium is
through fashion with these exclusive custom-made belts. As you
browse through my website you will see that ‘every buckle tells a
story.”’
